![]() Now, you can use the Webex Meetings desktop app to pair with a Webex Share device for use in a meeting when you join. It’s really cool because it fits in to the palm of my hand so I can carry it with me to a customer meeting, hotel conference room, or an ad-hoc huddle space. It provides wireless content sharing, without cables, dongles, or tedious adjustments to AV settings. Webex Share has become an essential tool for huddle and small spaces. Audio and video stays perfectly synchronized so all participants can see and hear at the same time, no matter how you connect – from any platform, mobile device, or room system. A higher frame rate gives you smoother motion and more images, so you can focus on what’s happening in real time. Now, you can see video content and animation in high resolution, with 30 frames per second sharing. Sharing rich video and media content is a must-have for engaging meetings so we’ve made sure Webex Meetings is optimized to share video content at higher frames per second. Smoothly Share Live Motion Video or Other Media It creates a more impactful, engaging, and seamless experience for participant when they can see the faces of the presenters and panelists. The high definition, high quality, video-first experience was awesome. All the panelists were in different locations and sharing content from their video devices. I recently presented in a Webex Event with over 200 participants. ![]() While Webex Events once only allowed you to use webcams, we have now extended video support to all video devices and endpoints for panelists. We also heard your feedback about wanting the same video-centric improvements in Cisco Webex Events as you get with Webex Meetings. We’ve done a lot of work to bring Webex Meetings and Webex Devices together, so we’ve just doubled our support for the number of video devices supported in a Webex Meetings conference to up to 200. Improved Video in Webex Meetings and Events This is a great feature when you are brainstorming together online and need to make smarter, faster decisions. We use this feature to capture our notes, collaborate together, and visually convey our ideas. ![]() Like many of you, I collaborate with my virtual and remote teams on-the-fly while we are in meetings. You can enhance your meeting presentations with visuals you can edit, as well as create drawings to help share your ideas with others. Everyone in the meeting not only sees the drawings and notes but can add their input, too. The whiteboard in Cisco Webex Meetings acts just like a conventional whiteboard or flip pad, but better and more intuitive. I recently shared this technology at Cisco Live Melbourne and it was an “aha” moment for the audience. Now, Webex Meetings users and those on video devices can also join in on the collaboration. Recently, we added whiteboarding into Webex Teams to allow for real-time collaboration, but occasionally you may be in online meetings with people who haven’t yet adopted Webex Teams. Productive Collaboration: Whiteboarding in Webex Meetings In today’s age of “information now,” this helps you know who’s-who so you can engage quickly and make the most of your meeting time. This is real-time data, not static, one-dimensional profiles. Things like photos, bios, even news articles, social links, and directory data (if you are in the same company) are aggregated on a contact card for fast viewing. Webex gathers publicly available content and generates structured profile data, merging and updating it on a regular basis. Webex uses Cognitive Collaboration technology to bring context and intelligence into your meetings. This is a great feature when you need to get up to speed quickly on a prospective new client, potential new hire, or just meeting someone for the first time. It works both inside and outside of your organization, just by clicking a button. That’s where our new People Insights feature helps you learn more about the people in the meeting. It can be tough to get up to speed on the company and people I’m meeting with, with only a few minutes to prepare. Sometimes I get invited to present to customers at a moment’s notice. People Insights: Know More About Who You are Meeting Here’s a deeper look at some of the new Webex Meetings features my team and I use every day, to get work done. We want your video meetings to be intuitive, easy, and smart so we just unveiled a new set of innovative features we’re calling Cognitive Collaboration designed to do just that. At Webex, we’re laser-focused on delivering the best possible experience so you can be productive in your meetings. When people can meet and collaborate from anywhere in the world, at any time, we can accomplish so much more. I believe meetings can be amazing game-changers. One thing we all have in common is – regardless of our job functions – we meet to get work done.

![]() The dumpling game at Nom Wah is remarkably strong, with pretty much every steamed and fried variation you can imagine on the menu, but don’t stop there. The original Nom Wah is in NYC and the Philly outpost opened in 2015, bringing along with it an extensive dim sum menu, with each dish cooked to order. There are umpteen places to grab great Chinese food in these tight few square blocks, but one of our perpetual favorites is Nom Wah Tea Parlor. ![]() Philly is home to a bustling Chinatown neighborhood, more or less nestled into the blocks between 9th and 11th Streets to the East and West, and Arch to Spring Garden Streets to the North and South. How many spots can you check off the Pennsylvania Dim Sum Bucket List? Philadelphia More important than stringent definitions is to find a great spot that makes fresh, delicious dim sum or dim sum-esque snacks, where you can order tons for the table and share everything family-style.įrom steamed buns to soup dumplings to spare ribs to spring rolls, we’ve rounded up our top 11 picks for the best dim sum in Pennsylvania. Traditional Cantonese dim sum consists largely of dumplings and other bite-sized dishes served in steamer baskets or little plates, but we’ve expanded the definition a bit to include all sorts of appetizers from provinces and cuisines across China. ![]() The days of huge tea houses with carts serving dim sum brunch might be mostly over in the US, but there are still plenty of places in Pennsylvania to indulge in an amazing dim sum feast. ![]() It can get very confusing! There is a way to clear up this confusion, but we'll tackle that topic some other time. Inst" channel in your DAW and for an instrument channel in Kontakt to send audio to a "Kt. As a result, is possible to have a Kontakt aux channel send output on a "Kt. Here's something to remember: The names of Kontakt's output channels (which route instrument output through plugin output) are easily editable, but the actual plugin output names are not. NOTE: The channel name is not always necessarily the same as the instrument name, so in the Output list above and the channel columns below, you might see different, often more generic, names for each of your channels, until you configure them otherwise. These are all stereo channels, so each channel uses two plugin outs. The channel names appear at the top of each output channel column, and the plugin output numbers appear at the bottom. Here's a portion of the Kontakt Outputs Section showing the different output channels for the four instruments. Often the channels will have more generic names, like "Inst 1" or "st. I have customized the channel names to match the instrument names. The Output list shows the channel name and plugin output number for each of Kontakt's current channels. ![]() Each instument has been assigned to its own output channel, and each output channel is named after the instrument routed to it. Here we have a Kontakt multi rack with four instruments loaded into it. First, let's get some terminology and concepts out of the way, since the way outputs work when Kontakt is running as a plugin can get a little complicated. You will see similar results in Kontakt 4, although actual RAM and CPU values may be different. Here we'll look at the visible, measurable differences between each VST plugin file in Kontakt 5. (Note: This can be a complex topic, which I hope to talk more about in a future post.) Each plugin flavor can have its own default output setup.Your DAW sees each plugin flavor as a different "product." You can have instances of all three VST plugins in the same DAW project, and they will all have their own settings. ![]() In fact the regular "Kontakt 5" plugin offers more outputs than both of the other two combined! The 8out and 16out plugins are not the only "multi-output" ones. ![]() All three VST plugins are capable of delivering audio on separate output channels. There are no other functional differences. The three VST plugins are identical, except in the number of output channels they make available to your DAW, and their factory default output configurations. In the rest of the post we'll look at the specific differences between each of the three versions of VST plugin included with Kontakt, but here are some things to remember: To give VST users similar flexibility when working on very resource-intensive projects or on older computers with limited CPU and RAM, Native Instruments provides three slightly different VST plugin files. Other plugin formats give your DAW a little more control over how many plugin channels to enable. Even though your DAW might never use all the channels the plugin advertises, the plugin still makes them available, and each of these available outputs consumes a small amount of RAM and CPU resources- whether it's used or not. When a VST plugin loads in your DAW it has to tell the DAW how many audio outputs the plugin supports. Of the many forms that Kontakt takes (standalone, AU, VST, AAX- and formerly RTAS), only the VST format offers multiple plugin flavors. Holding the group to the guidelines, though difficult at times, adds depth to the writing and responses. ![]() As a facilitator of the AWA way I feel such a joy from choosing and offering prompts, then, riding the wave of responses. So why add this unit to your home audio system? I tried to answer this by paraphrasing and summarising some answers from the FAQ section of the website. In it’s somewhat sombre yet tidy smooth ABS plastic IP54 case with gold-plated USB sockets, the isolator will look quite out of place on the audiophile’s exotic timber rack, especially with front as well as rear cable connection, so what would motivate placing one in your system? Indeed, is this even a hifi product at all? A look at the sparse functional website reveals that “audiophile” is listed sixth among several applications, and yet drilling down through a few links shows that the product is indeed intended for home digital audio system I would guess that the internal parts of this unit are ‘military’ standard quality and assembly, built to do the job correctly, reliably, and even indefinitely. This is no esoteric artistic expression - there are no pretensions of a beautiful case concealing cheap and simple circuitry. It’s appearance is a quaint-Iooking anachronistic throwback to diy/technician projects. I received the Industrial version, and industrial it looks - a scientific instrument ready for the lab or workshop. The Intona USB Hi-Speed Isolator is the antithesis of glitzy packaging. The two most common reasons for creating isolation are safety from fault conditions in industrial grade products and where wired communication between devices is needed but each device regulates its own power. Generally referred to as “isolation”, galvanic isolation is the convention used whereby individual parts of the electrical system may possess different ground potentials. Energy or information can still be exchanged between the sections by other means, such as capacitance, induction or electromagnetic waves, or by optical, acoustic, or mechanical means. Galvanic isolation is a principle of isolating functional sections of electrical systems to prevent current flow, so that there are no direct conduction paths. Signals can pass between galvanically isolated circuits, but stray currents, such as differences in ground potential or currents induced by AC power, are blocked. Galvanic isolation is a design technique that separates electrical circuits to eliminate stray currents. Its insertion in a data line will break ground loops, avoid noise coupling, and protect ports from power surges and voltage spikes, in applications which require high speed USB signal transfers. Their new product - claimed to be a world first - is designed to galvanically isolate the USB 2.0 Hi-Speed bus.
